Management

• David Opferman, Ph.D. – former corporate VP in Motorola (had worked for 10 years). At Motorola he was responsible for the product management, architecture and software development of cellular systems. He was also responsible for corporate-wide strategy for high availability (5NINNES initiative). Dr. Opferman has also 25 years experience at Bell Laboratories where his numerous responsibilities included: the software design of the first computer controlled PBX and the development of the call processing for the 5ESS.

• Ravishankar Iyer, Ph.D. – is Director of the Coordinated Science Laboratory (CSL) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is George and Ann Fisher Distinguished Professor of Engineering. Dr. Iyer is recognized world authority in dependable computing. He leads the research group where the ARMOR technology has been developed. Professor Iyer has received several awards including the Humboldt Foundation Senior Distinguished Scientist Award for excellence in research and teaching, and the IEEE Emanuel R. Piore Award “for fundamental contributions to measurement, evaluation, and design of reliable computing systems.

• Zbigniew Kalbarczyk, Ph.D. – is Research Professor at the Center for Reliable and High-Performance Computing in the Coordinated Science Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Kalbarczyk is expert with significant experience in dependable computing; leading major industry and government sponsored projects at the University of Illinois. Currently he is one of the leading researchers on the project developing ARMOR technology. He worked as Assistant Professor in the Laboratory for Dependable Computing at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden where he was involved in projects with defense and nuclear power industry.
